PM Modi reaffirms commitment to empowering persons with disabilities

NewDelhi, Dec 3 (UNI) On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring dignity, access, and opportunities for Divyang (differently-abled) individuals.
In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted the significant contributions made by persons with disabilities across various sectors, attributing their achievements to their creativity and determination.
"They have distinguished themselves across sectors, thanks to their creativity and determination. At the same time, they have enriched our national progress significantly," PM Modi said, emphasizing the importance of inclusive growth.
The Prime Minister noted that India has taken significant steps towards Divyang welfare, including enacting laws, developing accessible infrastructure, implementing inclusive education policies, and promoting innovations in assistive technologies.
"Over the years, India has taken important steps towards Divyang Kalyan through laws, accessible infrastructure, inclusive education policies and innovations in assistive technologies," he said.
PM Modi said the government will continue to work towards empowering persons with disabilities, ensuring they receive the respect and opportunities they deserve. "We will continue to do more in the times to come," he added.
